1984 – TITANO ’84 Aerophilately Exhibition and 24th FISA Congress

San Marino – Palazzo dei Congressi June 9,10 1984

Thanks to the great organizational skills of Sandro Taragni President and the support of Rimini Philatelic Circle, this great philatelic exhibition was organized in Republic of San Marino, with which the Bicentenary of the first Italian aeronautical ascents by Paolo Andreani was commemored. They occurred in 1874, a few kilometers from Milan.

Thanks to the generous hospitality of the Autonomous State Philatelic and Numismatic Company of Republic of San Marino, which made the spaces of Palazzo dei Congressi available, it was also possible to host the 24th congress of the International Federation of Aerofilatelic Societies (FISA).
As highlighted in the greeting of the then President of FISA, Roland F. Kohl, it was the third time – after the one of Riccione in 1970 and Venice in 1976 – that “Italian friends” had welcomed the delegates of FISA Congress.

The members joined the initiative with great enthusiasm and there were 30 exhibitors with collections of great value, some of which were specifically dedicated to aerostatic flight.

For the occasion, an interesting single issue was published by Italian Aerophilately Association, with articles of great interest (see photo).
