The Circolo, Philatelic Atlantic Cruises “B. Andreuccetti ”in Orbetello organized the 40th Exhibition of Aerophilately, Photographic, Documentary from 26 to 30 June 2021, on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the death of Italo Balbo, which took place in the skies of Tobruk on 28/06/1940.
The event was held in the Exhibition Hall in Piazza della Repubblica 1 Orbetello, with the patronage of: Municipality of Orbetello, Associazione Trasvolatori Atlantiques – Rome (ATA), Italian Association of Aerophilately – Milan (AIDA), Federation of Italian Philatelic Societies (FSFI ), Arma Aeronautica Association – Atlantic Trasvolatori Section – Orbetello, Pro Loco Lagunare (Social Promotion Association) – Orbetello, Memonet (The useful and delightful).
There was the participation of Poste Italiane, which set up a detached post office and used, on June 28, 2021, a special postmark on all correspondence departing from 10.00 to 16.00. For the occasion, four souvenir postcards of the event have been published.
The exhibitors (some of which AIDA members) were the following: Giorgio Moretti (Paderno Dugnano), who exhibited periodical newspapers and documents; Lucino Cerulli (Rome), who exhibited photos and documents; Leonello Vannozzi (Sinalunga), who exhibited photos and documents; Antonio Felloni (Orbetello), who exhibited period newspapers and Bergamaschi Bernardino (Orbetello), who exhibited photos, documents and newspapers from the 1930s.
The organizers of the event were satisfied with the participation of collectors and supporters. The visitors of the event, based on the feedback received on the attendance register, while taking into account the criticality of the moment, were about seven hundred in the five days of the exhibition.
The next event will be held in December 2021, on the occasion of the anniversary of the first ITALY-BRAZIL Transatlantic Cruise.
