As already mentioned, finally the Swiss Philatelic Federation, in collaboration with the Philatelic Society of Lugano, has announced the organization of an International Philatelic Exhibition, which will take place in Lugano from May 18-22  2022.

The exhibition organized with the patronage of the FIP and the recognition of the FEPA, will celebrate the 160th anniversary of the seated Helvetia, in the image on the side. This is the first notched Swiss stamp and the first to bear the Helvetia designation, still in use.

The AIJP (Association Internationale des Journalistes Philatéliques) and AEP (Académie Européenne de Philatélie) have also granted patronage to HELVETIA 2022.

The exhibition will be held in the Conza Pavilion, the Lugano trade fair and congress center, which has space for about 2,000 exhibition stands. The classes of the competition will be: World Championship of Traditional Philately, Postal History, Postal Stationery, Aerofilatelia, Thematic, Literature, One stand.

As highlighted by the Italian commissioner, Claudio Manzati, the Organizing Committee will make every reasonable effort to ensure simplified customs procedures for exhibitions entering Switzerland and it is reasonable to think that next spring, with vaccinations completed, this event will truly represent the first major exhibition opportunity in the presence.

As is well known, collections that have scored more than 75 points in a national event can participate. The registration form and the IREX regulations, which in any case are attached here, can already be downloaded directly from the event website:https://www.helvetia2022.ch

The registration form, duly completed, accompanied by the introductory page and a “synopsis” of the collection, must be sent to the address:c.mazati@virgilio.it.

Please note, for those who have not yet achieved the necessary score for the first participation in an international exhibition, that this score can also be achieved through the PhilItalia 4.0 event, organized by CIFO together with CIFT, details of which can be found on the Federation website ( on the “Exhibitions” page): https://expo.fsfi.it/
